Why can't Nickelodeon (not Nick at Nite) be more adult-oriented? With all of the ADULT issues going on, including teenage pregnancy (especially from Jamie Lynn Spears, star of former TEENick show, Zoey 101), the war in Iraq, America's bad economy, why can't television channels for children including Nickelodeon be more aware of these issues? The only thing they have on NIckelodeon is SHITTY cartoons including Spongebob that have the cartoon charm targeted for kids but the intricate vocabulary targeted towards adults that little kids won't understand, especially when those words are used by Squidward and Plankton, the show's more classical and well-fashioned characters. TEENick, Nickelodeon's "teenage" segment, doesn't even have any TEEN-rated shows. The closest thing they had for a TEEN show was Zoey 101, but it didn't mention anything topical including drug awareness or teenage pregnancy, some issues TEENS face these days. They have Nick at News, but they show episodes every 2-4 months. They show the issues, but in the perspective of children. Well I'm pretty sure that if they wanted to target adult audiences they probably can. I don't think kids wanna learn contraception from Tampon Bob Triangle Pants, or the war in Iraq from Ren & Stimpy, and I highly doubt that zoey 101 would be as sccessful being called economy 101. Teens don't give a rats about this stuff! Of course we catch a glimpse of these issues when we walk past the news on tv to go to the fridge. I know about these issues but I don't let them bother me. At least not yet!
