 Is there an EASY tutorial for 3ds Max 2008 character animation? By easy, I mean so easy a complete moron can follow - I am not a moron, I am infact an experienced user of 3ds Max. I have never (up to now) had to animate characters... I have tried the tutorials which come with 3ds Max to no avail; both the Biped and Bone Systems are absolutely foreign to me, and the tutorials make absolutely no sense whatsoever..... Bipeds do NOT animate easily and CANNOT be customized to fit my model no matter what I try.... Bone Systems are NOT easily made and for whatever the darn reason, I can't seem to get a leg to act like a leg - the knee keeps bending to the side instead of the front like a normal knee. HELP! I am at my wit's end, ready to sledgehammer both my PC and this godawful 3ds Max Bible..... IS THERE HOPE FOR IDIOTS? Let's hope so..... It sounds like you are having problems rigging. Rigging is a whole separate expertise apart from animation. Animation is also very challenging itself. Here is a ready made 3DS Max Character with rig. I would suggest you take a look at that character to see how the rig works, and possibly you can recreate a similar rig on your character. For example, there are probably ten different ways you can rig a foot for proper rotation and each way has its pluses and minuses depending on the situation. Same goes for arms and legs. You might also try the "Animitron" plugin for Max, which automates the creation of rigs and can also automate animation. Anyway, good luck with it! Just realize that it takes years to master rigging and animation. Its not something that most people can pick up overnight. |
